Ten Commandments of Faith

 

I. Thou shalt not speak thy fear, but thy faith.

  • “For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

II. Thou shalt not say, ‘I am weak’.

  • “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong’.” (Joel 3:10)
  • “…The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

III. Thou shalt not speak of thine inability, but of God’s ability. 

  • “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) 

IV. Thou shalt not talk of pains and symptoms of sickness.

  • “…Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:17) 
  • “…With His stripes, we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
  • “…I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: FOR I AM THE LORD THAT HEALETH THEE.” (Exodus 23:25)

 V. Thou shalt believe the report of the Lord.

  • “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and
    lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

VI. Thou shalt not worry or be anxious.

  • “Be anxious for nothing…” (Philippians 4:6)
  • “Therefore, take no thought saying, ‘what shall we eat’, or ‘what shall we drink…’” (Matthew 6:31)

VII. Thou shalt not allow thy heart to be troubled.

  • “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1)

VIII. Thou shalt be strong in the Lord.

  • “…be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10)

IX. Thou shalt receive, and not earn, God’s gifts.

  • “…Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:2)

X. Thou shalt give thanks in all things.

  • “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
